Chairman's Message
by Sheila McKinney, Presbyterian Hospital of Allen
The end of every year is a time for reflection and an opportunity to turn the page…to begin anew. The business community and the Allen Chamber of Commerce enjoyed a successful 2003. Some examples include the following:
- 88% of the Chamber members renewed their membership
- Business women embraced a new networking group called WISE (Women In Support of Enterprise)
- Members and employees of other local businesses enjoyed the new Lunchbox Learning Series and
- The Business Expo received rave reviews due to the changes in format and an increase in attendance at our Collin County Business After Hours.
I am enthusiastic about serving as the Chairman of the Chamber Board in 2004. Having been a part of the Allen business community for the past three years as President of Presbyterian Hospital of Allen, I have first hand knowledge of the significance of the Chamber, and I am especially grateful for the warmth and acceptance of our hospital in this community. One of the more critical objectives at the Chamber in 2004 is the completion of the strategic plan. As a result of the work done thus far, we have a vision that will help guide what we are and what we do. Simply stated, our vision is to be the indispensable resource for Allen and Collin County businesses. The Chamber Board believes our vision is powerful, and as you can see, it is all about helping you, our members. Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2004. Sheila McKinney Chairman of the Board
