Chamber's Position on Local Option Election

In September the Board of Directors of the Allen Chamber unanimously passed Resolution 02-03 in support of the effort to place on the ballot proposals to allow beer and wine sales in local grocery stores and to eliminate the private club requirements for Allen restaurants.

The Allen Citizens for Economic Growth formed to spearhead the efforts to get the necessary signatures from registered voters who reside in Allen in order to place this issue on the ballot in May 2004.  The following is an update on the PAC activities and a request for your support.

As a Chamber we are not involved in the PAC nor are we the coordinating body for this initiative.  We felt that it was within the scope of our responsibility to provide you with information about the election and to give you an opportunity to participate if so desired.

If you have any questions or comments about the issue, please address those to Andre’ Dubos, chairman for the Allen Citizens for Economic Growth at (972) 743.0400.
