Staples #1085 hosted the October Business After Hours on October 16, 2003
at their location of 812 W. McDermott in Allen.
Bennigans was a co-host and provided all the food for the event.



Mike Mirau, Personnelity Performance Solutions, discusses “Goal Setting for Success”
at the second session of the four-part Lunchbox Learning Series held
October 23, 2003.  The third session focusing on “Communicating like Your Life
Depends on It” will be held on November 20, 2003 and the final session,
scheduled for December 18, 2003, will focus on ”Time Strategies in a Digital Age.” 
All sessions are held at the Hilton Garden Inn / Allen.


The Ambassadors and participants of Tuesday Morning Live, a weekly
networking group of the Allen Chamber, presented Mimi’s Café with the
Retail Member of the Month Award.  Mimi’s Café, located at
810 W. McDermott, has been a part of Allen since 2000 and were
recognized for their continued support of the chamber and their positive impact
on the community.  The Mimi's Cafe dining experience is more than just good food.
It's friendly, helpful people and the warm, comfortable atmosphere of home.
They serve classic American dishes, made from scratch, in a colorful,
French New Orleans - inspired atmosphere.


 


Participants look on during the Allen Chamber of Commerce’s Nothing But
Networking Luncheon held quarterly at Brazos Cattle Company.  The luncheon allows
businesses to network with other businesses in a relaxed an informal environment.


 


James Montgomery, General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn, was presented
with the Allen Chamber of Commerce’s Service Member of the Month Award by
Perry Waller, Larry Becker and John Stufflebeam, Allen Chamber Ambassador
representatives.  Since opening in 2002 the Hilton Garden Inn, a 150 room hotel, has
provided Allen with much needed conference space for community and business use. 
The Hilton Garden Inn has proven their commitment to Allen through their exceptional
service and their support of local non-profits and events.


 



Sharon Mayer, President of the Allen Chamber of Commerce, poses with Joe Jaynes,

Eggs & Issues breakfast hosted by the  Governmental Affairs Committee of the
Allen Chamber on Friday, October 24, 2003.  Mr. Jaynes discussed the upcoming
Bond Election and urged everyone to  vote on November 4, 2003

Nancy Barry, Vice President of Community Services for
The Dallas Morning News was the guest speaker at the second
W.I.S.E. (Women In Support of Enterprise) luncheon on
Thursday, October 30, 2003.  Ms. Barry spoke to over 40
businesswomen on ways to reduce stress while juggling family and careers.
