Featuring

Kep Kepner, CPA,

The Entrepreneur’s Coach

November 13, 2003

7:30 - 9:00 AM

 Hilton Garden Inn

Kep Kepner is a CPA with a full-service accounting practice in Dallas. That is just part of it! Kep came to the accounting profession in an unusual way. He has a background in sales and marketing. Kep sold computers services and computer hardware for IBM's Service Bureau Corporation and other hardware and software manufacturers.

With his background in marketing, Kep joined a regional CPA firm, Alford Meroney & Company. He rose to partner in charge of their Management Consulting Practice. In this role, he served a wide range of small business clients in areas such as systems, marketing, business organization, and mergers and acquisitions. In 1980 Alford Meroney & Company merged into Arthur Young, and Kep became an
Arthur Young Management Consulting Partner.

In 1985 Kep cashed in his corner office on the 43rd floor and raised venture capital to acquire a company that had a new technology for building bank buildings. Cawthon Building Systems Inc. crashed along with most of the financial markets in the late 1980s. Like most entrepreneurs Kep thought of the Cawthon demise as a "learning experience." Kep opened his CPA practice in 1987 in his spare bedroom. That practice has grown and now includes another CPA and three other employees.

What Kep has learned is the key factor that seems to separate the high achieving business owners and entrepreneurs from the also-rans. He calls this, "Having an Out of Business Experience." Because of his life experiences and what he has learned from his high achieving clients, Kep decided to offer his perspective in a variety of venues including professional speaking, books and other publications, CDs and tapes, entrepreneurial seminars and business coaching.

On the personal side, Kep is married to Liz Griffin and has two grown sons Peter and Kyle…who have escaped his entrepreneurial efforts without too many scars.

The cost for members is $15 and $20 for non-members and includes full breakfast and handouts, if applicable.  If you make a reservation and cannot attend, please cancel 48 hours in advance to avoid being billed. Please RSVP to secure a reservation for each session (972) 727-5585 or reservations@allenchamber.com
