One of my favorite Chamber functions is one most of you have
probably never been to. About once a
month, the Chamber holds VIP Coffees at Java & Cha. “VIP” stands for very important
prospects. Usually a couple of staff
people and one or two board members show up.
Anywhere from around one to ten prospective Chamber members also
attend. It’s a small intimate
gathering where we get to visit one on one with prospective members. We find out about their businesses, their
needs, concerns and plans for the future.
We also answer any questions they may have about Chamber membership and
explain how beneficial it is for a business to join its local chamber of
commerce.
These meetings are usually held around eight o’clock in the
morning. The good folks at Java &
Cha are wonderful hosts and their facility is a great place for pleasant
conversation. Did I mention the great
coffee and other drinks they serve?
It’s a great way to start your day, having good coffee, meeting new
people and telling the Chamber story.
The next VIP Coffee is scheduled for March 19th. If you are not a member of the Allen Chamber
and would like to find out more about it, why don’t you join us on the 19th? If you are a Chamber member and know of
others who would make good members, why not invite them to come on the 19th? Or better yet, bring them with you and come
see why VIP coffees have become one of my favorite events. It’s casual and free. I hope to see you there.
