Jim Waldbauer is a licensed civil engineer and has been
providing professional engineering services for public and private sector
clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for over 17 years. Jim is a founding partner of BW2 Engineers,
Inc., a civil engineering and surveying firm that provides services including boundary and topographic surveying, GPS
control surveying, right-of-way research and surveying, construction staking,
paving and drainage design, water and wastewater utility design, hydrologic and
hydraulic studies, land development planning and design services, construction
administration and management services, and other city engineering
services.
Jim and his wife Lisa moved to Allen in 1986. Since that time, he has been very active in
the community and has an extensive history of volunteerism and community
service. He is currently serving as
President of the Allen Parks Foundation, Vice President of the Allen Heritage
Guild, and Treasurer of the Allen Kiwanis Club. He is also currently serving as President of his local chapter of
the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
He has previously served as a member of the Allen Parks and Recreation
Board for 10 years, was a member of the Allen Fire Department Reserves for over
7 years, and is a graduate of both the Leadership Allen program and the
Citizens Police Academy. He has
assisted the City of Allen with several capital improvement programs, most
recently as the Finance Chairman of the 1999 Capital Improvement Program
Steering Committee. He continues to be
a strong supporter of parks and recreation in the city. While chairman of the Allen Parks and
Recreation Board, he was instrumental in the board obtaining national
recognition by being awarded Citizen Board of 2000 by the National Recreation
and Parks Association in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was also recently awarded the 2002 Advocate of the Year Award by the
Texas Recreation and Parks Society.
Jim and Lisa are both graduates of the University of
Oklahoma. They have two sons, Ryan and
Erik, who attend the Lowery Center and Vaughan Elementary. They are members of the First Presbyterian
Church of Allen.
