Dear Chamber Members:
What a busy and exciting year we have had! It is hard to realize that December is here
and my term as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is
ending. It has been such an honor to
serve in this position.
As I reflect back on 2002, I continue to be amazed
at the growth that Allen has seen, particularly in the business community. A resident can work, shop, and be
entertained without ever leaving our city limits. Twenty-three years ago when my family moved here you certainly
could not say that. We have much to be
proud of in Allen!
We also have much work to do. As Allen continues to grow, our city
government, school district and Chamber will have to step up to be ready for
our new citizens and businesses and provide the quality of life that everyone
who moves to Allen is seeking. Your
Chamber of Commerce will be looking for ways to continue to support our
business community. As Chamber members,
we need to tout our city, school district and businesses. “Shop Allen” should be our renewed slogan as
we go into 2003. Taking advantage of
Chamber opportunities to meet other business owners who might be in the market
for our products/services should be a goal for all of us.
I must express a special thank you to Sharon Mayer,
Carol Rodgers, Pam Fechter, and a great Board of Directors who all worked
tirelessly this year. They made my term
very enjoyable.
Thank you for all you do!
