The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has opposed President Bush on 3 out of 4 major energy and environmental issues in the past two years: 1) Energy Bill, 2) Arctic National Wildlife Reserve, and 3)Healthy Forest Initiative. The majority of the CBC supported the President in 2002 on permanently storing nuclear waste under Yucca Mountain in Nevada. Two CBC members serve on the House Energy & Commerce Committee: 1) Congressman Al Wynn (MD) and Congressman Edolphus Towns (NY). We need black ownership of coal, oil refineries, natural gas, power plants, oil, solar and wind power farms.
